FEBRUARY 10TH
Hinson Lake 24 Hour Ultra Classic is now officially closed to entries. I will accept any entry received in the
mail to my house today. (Friday 1/27/2012) There will be a volunteer entry option that I will create soon. That
will give you the option of running officially in this race if you agree to at least 4 hours of volunteering in
and during the race itself. I hate that I have to cap this race but due to parking capacity and keeping my
marriage intact I have to cap it at 240 (or as close to that figure as possible)
24 Hours. One day. What can you run in 24 hours? Can you stay awake for 24 hours? Can you stay uninjured
in 24 hours? How will you respond when you hit rock bottom and despair has set in? Man......do I love the
concept and practice of a 24 hour run! Most people who know me know that I started this race 6 years ago
selfishly thinking that only about 10 of my crazy buddies would show up and I could run a 24 hour race for
free and not have to travel across the U.S. just to run one of these things. Now I have the privilege of not
only hosting this event but I get to witness incredible triumphs of friends and strangers alike as you guys
get to test your meddle and try to go beyond what you have previously ran. Every runner, walker will be
treated with enthusiastic support as you go for your goal. Whether it's 165 miles or 1 lap of 1.52 miles, it's all
very, very good!!
